The Eyeless Trust offers invaluable help and support to families who have children with anophthalmia, microphthalmia or coloboma.
Children and families affected by these conditions face a range of difficulties and getting help can be a confusing and sometimes expensive business.
The Eyeless Trust, through its network of Family Support Workers, can become the point of contact for accessing the help and guidance available. Through this network The Eyeless Trust currently helps more than 200 families, steering them through the complex needs and challenges that have to be met.
But, like everything else in life, it all costs money. The Eyeless Trust receives no government funding and relies heavily on donations to be able to give the help and support that it does to more than 200 families from all parts of the UK.
Donations to The Eyeless Trust go towards the following areas where funding is vital:
Family Support Workers are the link between the family of the child affected and the often complicated process of getting the help they need.
Holidays for the families of children and young people with anophthalmia, microphthalmia and coloboma are valued and therapeutic for all concerned. The Eyeless Trust helps more than 50 families each year to enjoy holidays in a variety of locations.

As the children get older there is a great need to support them towards independent living. This can include cookery, finances, mobility, occupational advice and assistance, and other practical skills – according to their needs.
The Eyeless Trust gives modest grants to meet a wide range of needs. Grants are given for leisure activities such as music lessons and personal skills development.
